Whole House Remodel in Camas – Slideshow

In late 2011, we performed a facelift to a former Parade of Homes house on Prune Hill in Camas. The finishes in the home were beautiful, but the new owners wanted their own style. What’s remarkable about this project is that the homeowners lived in China while we renovated the kitchen, downstair bathroom, entryway and stairs, master bedroom and bathroom. Modern technology played a part here, as did a lot of trust.

The Kitchen Remodel

In the kitchen we removed a butler’s pantry in favor of an open hallway that still contained counter space and cabinets, but that did not restrict entry to the dining room. We also removed standard cherry cabinets for Brazilian cherry with a dark stain. The homeowners wanted an island with a vegetable sink and an area where family members could eat breakfast. For appliances we had to take some space from the adjacent half bath to make room for a giant SubZero refrigerator. The other appliances also had a stainless steel finishes, including a 6-burner Wolf range. We added a couple of wine coolers and a drink cooler to make it livable. One of my favorite features in the kitchen is the hand-made bronze sink. It requires a wipe-down with every use to keep water spots from marring the finish, but it adds a solid and beautiful focal point to the kitchen.

Master Bath Remodel

We tore the master bath down to the studs and refinished it with Cherry cabinets, granite counters, and porcelain tile floors. A large walk-in tile shower with a rain head finished the space.

Throughout the rest of the home, we made little improvements and changes to finishes, including an engineered wood floor to replace much of the downstairs carpeting, built-in cabinets, and new moldings. The downstairs bath got a facelift after we pilfered space from it to make way for the fridge.
