The Fazzolari home you can tour offers a unique chance to see not only a completely renovated area of the home – the kitchen – but also a major and stunning addition in its major construction stages. “The addition is so much like building a new home that we felt we needed someone who was good at both new construction and remodeling.” homeowners Heather and Bodey said.

The completed kitchen originally featured oak cabinets and laminate counter tops. Fazzolari gutting it, tore down the ceiling, moved the exterior wall about about two feet, and removed another wall to create easier access to an adjacent bath, which also was renovated. The new kitchen contains beautiful details, including a coffered ceiling, 800 square feet of heated porcelain slate-style floors, and new granite countertops and alder cabinets.

Meanwhile, the 2,500-square-foot renovation will nearly double the size of the 1997 home and showcases the owners’ tastes and the craftsmanship and design skills of the Fazzolari team, which was chosen Best Remodeler and Home Builder of Clark County by readers of the Columbian for the past three years. Ultimately the goal is to integrate the look of the addition so convincingly that visitors won’t be able to tell it was an addition at all.

The addition will extend the wrap-around porch, add a new covered, heated patio area and adjoining entertainment room, add a guest suite, a bedroom, laundry room, repositioned bathrooms. Finally, the new space will contain an office for Bodey, featuring a fireplace, vaulted ceilings, a walk-in filing room, and unobstructed views of Mt. St. Helens. The extra space is welcome to this expanded family and the level of detail provides a touch of restrained luxury.

“We were attracted to John (Fazzolari) because of his esthetic and attention to detail,” Bodey said. “One of our goals is to get a craftsman style for our home.”
